Terence Ang's world was upended in August 2020 when a sudden stroke forced him to confront a harsh new reality. This life-altering event sparked a deep creative fire, leading to his first book, A Cry in the Dark (2022), where he vividly chronicles his journey from confusion and despair to unyielding resilience. His heartfelt depiction of the battle to regain normalcy amidst emotional turmoil and harsh realities drew significant recognition, including a speaking engagement at the World Stroke Congress 2022.

With each subsequent work—Emerging from the Dark (2023), Strength in Motion (2024), and the graphic novel The Boy & The Man (2024)—Terence delves deeper into the raw, powerful experiences of stroke survivors, including his own. His writing and illustrations transcend mere storytelling, serving as a potent testament to the human spirit’s capacity for recovery and renewal.

Through his work, Terence shines a light on the often-hidden battles of stroke survivors, offering not just stories but a lifeline of hope, courage, and an indomitable will to rise above adversity.
